To keep himself and his co-stars sane during the incredibly long, grueling hours of filming Star Trek, Isaacs personally purchased a table tennis table and a basketball hoop to set up right outside the trailers. The resulting recreational games created some of the most surreal, visually chaotic scenes on the studio lot. Isaacs fondly remembers the sheer absurdity of stepping outside in a standard, drafty hospital gown and standard pants to play an aggressive, high-stakes game of pickup basketball against an actor fully transformed by prosthetic makeup into a terrifying, heavily armored alien warrior.
