Sneaking Snacks in NASA Headquarters
While filming the Michael Bay sci-fi disaster blockbuster Armageddon, Isaacs was thrilled to shoot on location at real, highly secure NASA facilities. The cast was given strict instructions to respect the high-tech equipment and to absolutely never bring any food or drinks near the multi-million dollar control panels. Naturally, during a long and exhausting night shoot, a ravenous Isaacs snuck a smuggled, powdered jelly donut into the main control room, hiding it beneath a clip board. Mid-take, the donut slipped, exploded into a cloud of white sugar, and left a massive sticky red jelly smear right across a critical, active mainframe console. Isaacs had to spend the next five minutes frantically licking his own sleeve and scrubbing the console clean before a NASA official could walk in and potentially have him arrested for cosmic sabotage.
