During the grueling seven-month shoot for Season 3 of The White Lotus in Thailand, Isaacs was initially treated to the ultimate VIP lifestyle. He was placed in an absurdly opulent private villa that came equipped with its own massive swimming pool and a personal, dedicated butler. While most people would view this as paradise, Isaacs found the extreme pampering to be deeply lonely, vacuous, and a bit obscene, comparing the experience to eating nothing but desserts and caviar for weeks on end. He felt trapped in a gilded version of Groundhog Day. Once he checked off the typical tourist clichés of daily massages and aggressive overeating, he became so desperate to escape the uniform hospitality that he snuck away from the resort to find real Thai neighborhoods and experience normal daily life.
